Adidas news: Adidas ends relationship with Kanye West ‘Ye’ ‘immediately’ amid anti-Semitic comments

Adidas announced on Tuesday that it immediately severed its association with Ye and halted production of Yeezy-branded products. The company said it does not condone anti-Semitism or any other form of hate speech.

The rapper made disparaging remarks toward Jewish people in a since-deleted interview on Revolt TV’s “Drink Champs.”

Ye’s remarks against the Jewish community were used by a gang of neo-Nazis in Los Angeles who posted anti-Semitic flyers on a 405 Freeway overpass over the weekend.

In addition to his rants against the Jewish community, Kim’s ex-husband wore a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt for his surprise Yeezy Season 9 show in Paris with conservative political analyst Candace Owens, sparking another outcry.

The Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center classified the slogan as white supremacist hate speech that originated seven years ago in reaction to civil rights organization Black Lives Matter.

Ye wrote in an Instagram post that has since been deleted, “Here’s my latest reaction when people ask me why I made a t-shirt that says white lives matter…THEY DO.”

On Monday, CAA’s entertainment company said it will no longer represent the rapper. Film and TV studio MRC also said it would shelve a documentary about Kanye West, saying it “cannot support any work that bolsters its platform”.

Among others, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Reese Witherspoon, Amy Schumer and John Legend have spoken out against Ye’s anti-Semitic remarks.
