The aim is to engage with its growing creative community at two successive in-store events at flagship stores in New Delhi and Mumbai on July 14, 2022 and July 15, 2022 respectively.

Adidas Originals hosted the “Originals Collective” to engage with its growing creative community at two successive in-store events at flagship stores in New Delhi and Mumbai on July 14, 2022 and July 15, 2022 respectively. Ushering in a new era of innovation and creativity, the experiential events featured one-of-a-kind mixed reality setups, with multiple tangible and non-tangible interventions that provided a truly immersive experience for attendees.

The event was kicked off with interactive workshops that explored and demystified the world of digital art. While digital illustrator Yash Pradhan led the workshop at adidas Originals, Linking Rd Store in Mumbai, designer Param Sahib led the conference at adidas Originals, Promenade Store in New Delhi. The two artists shared interesting ideas and anecdotes about their exploration of digital art, the emergence of AR & VR, NFTs, and more. They then spotlighted a special AR showcase featuring 3 classics – Stan Smith, Superstar and Forum. Unique QR codes led attendees to special filters that allowed them to discover themed digital artwork around sneakers. The events also included a digital photo booth where attendees were clicked on live filters.

The evening then ended with an in-store mix with local music DJs – Sickflip and Skip, who had curated a “Classic Tributes Set” of hip-hop tracks, while adding their own unique twist to it. As a final interactive element, a t-shirt personalization engagement was held at both stores. Based on the digital artworks created by the artists, participants were able to select their favorite designs and have them printed on t-shirts via a heat press. A true representation of digital art meets real-world application, these t-shirts have served as ideal souvenirs and takeaways for everyone.

The experiential events saw the participation of more than 100 designers, store regulars and key members of the adidas member community – adiClub, in New Delhi and Mumbai. Participants shared their enthusiasm for innovative concepts and documented their experience on social media as they interacted and engaged in a fusion of visual art, augmented reality elements and live in-store experiences, while celebrating the legacy of classic adidas Originals sneakers.
