Footwear retailer Deichmann announces the opening of a second store in Peterborough

A shoe retailer is hoping to set the tone in Peterborough after opening the doors to its new store.

European shoe retailer Deichmann, which has a turnover of £85m, has finally started trading at its second store in the city.

She employs 15 people at her new 590 square meter store at 14 Serpentine Green Shopping Centre, Hampton, which has just undergone a £375,000 refurbishment.

New jobs include managerial positions, shop floor and cashier roles.

Deichmann marked the opening by presenting customers with offers on a selection of shoes.

The opening will be officially celebrated at the store on November 19 with a variety of gifts, offers and fun family activities throughout the day.

A spokesperson said: ‘The Peterborough Serpentine Green store features a user-friendly layout, with all stock available in the store so customers can easily locate and try on the style and size of their choice without having to wait for assistance.

“Deichmann also offers a full range of men’s and children’s shoes, as well as unique and exclusive lines from brands such as adidas, Fila, Nike and Skechers.”

The retailer’s other store in Peterborough is in Queensgate Shopping Centre.
