Now, over a month later, it looks like West has made a decision on what to do with his leftover Adidas, Balenciaga and Gap merchandise, and he’s back on social media, too. So what will happen to the singer’s merchandising and what did he say on Twitter? Here’s what you need to know.

What did Kanye West say?

West’s use of the term “death con 3” refers to the US military term “Defcon 3”, a warning system used to indicate readiness levels.

Defcon 5 is the least severe level, and the worst is Defcon 1, which signals the outbreak of nuclear war. The Jewish Chronicle reports that West’s tweet “declared a metaphorical war on the Jewish people.”

His full tweet read, “I’m a little sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m gonna die a jerk 3 On JEWS Funny thing is I can’t be anti-semitic because black people are actually Jews too You guys played with me and tried to blacklist anyone who opposes your agenda”.

On Instagram, West also claimed that record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs was controlled by Jews.

During an appearance on the Drink Champs podcast in October, West also blamed “Jewish media” and “Jewish Zionists” for many of the alleged wrongdoings, saying “Jews have owned the black voice” and that “the Jewish community, especially in the music industry…they will take us and milk us until we die”.

During the three-hour podcast, West sparked further controversy by claiming that George Floyd died of fentanyl and that a police officer’s knee “wasn’t even on his neck like that.” The episode has since been removed.

At the time, a Twitter spokesperson said his account had been locked due to “a violation of Twitter policies”.

Yes, Kanye West is now back on Twitter – about five or six weeks after his account was deleted. He announced his return to the platform by tweeting the word “Shalom,” which is a Hebrew word meaning peace and love.

The tweet was sent on Sunday, November 20, and as of this writing on Tuesday, November 22, Ye has not tweeted since.

What does Ye do with Balenciaga, Adidas and Gap products?

After returning to Twitter, West revealed he would be selling hoodies from Balenciaga, Adidas and Gap for $20 (about £16.85), after the fashion brands cut ties with him.

He sent a tweet from Donda Times, his sports marketing agencyon Sunday, Nov. 20, announcing that he would be selling off leftover Yeezy, Balenciaga, and Adidas apparel for $20 “so everyone can afford quality clothes.”

In the accompanying video, he said: “I’m going to cut out 100 hoodies from Yeezy, from Balenciaga, from what we did at Gap, from what we did at Adidas, everything we do will cost $20. We want to make sure that everyone can receive the same level of cuts, the same level of food, the same level of water, the same level of education, the curriculum, the engineering.

He added, “We are beings with engineering opportunities. We go beyond the past. We are looking to the future.

The footage has already been viewed around two million times and also shows West touring his Los Angeles office, where employees can be seen sitting behind sewing machines. Hundreds of garments are also seen hanging from racks throughout the workshop, or laid out on tables and spread out on the floor.

West says “we had a bit of a drip” before trying on a tan-colored hoodie. He then asks the person filming if they are wearing “oversize” before giving them the jacket. The unidentified person thanks him for the merchandise, calling him “Kanye”.

When the person apologizes, West says “you can call me Kanye. It’s going to take us some time to update ourselves. We are the update”.

He then adds: “As a species, we must update ourselves together. Everything was so decisive. Think when they say diversity. People see that as a good thing. We are the United States of America. We are a universe. We are a university. We are a republic.
