New shirt unveiled
Leicester City have unveiled their home shirt for the upcoming season.
Usually worn on the last day of the previous season, supply chain issues mean Townhave just shared the new design with supporters ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. It should go on sale in July.
The new home kit, the fifth made by Adidas, features a gold club badge and white collar, which the club says is inspired by the Jimmy Bloomfield team shirts of the 1970s. It is the first home kit of City to have a collar since the 2016-17 Champions League campaign, while it’s the first shirt to have a white collar in over a decade, since the Burrda effort of 2011-12.
Fixture change confirmed
Leicester City have confirmed that their opener of the new season against Brentford will be pushed back to Sunday August 7.
As reported by LeicestershireLive last week,a clash with the city’s annual Caribbean Carnival kicked off at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, in doubt for the curtain-raiser at King Power Stadium. The club have now announced they will host the Bees a day later, with a 2pm kick-off.
Leicester’s Caribbean Carnival is one of the largest in the country and organizers are ready to welcome up to 80,000 people to attend what is a one-day event that requires significant policing. Although the carnival is taking place in person for the first time in three years, following two Covid cancellations, it still takes place on the first weekend of August. The date for this year’s edition has been officially set in January.

Christian Eriksen will make the transfer decision
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has said Christian Eriksen will make a decision on his future within two weeks as Leicester City have reportedly made an offer.
Townare among a number of the clubs are said to have ‘contacted’ the midfielderthis summer on a possible free transfer. Eriksen is out of contract with Brentford after signing a six-month deal in January.
The player caught the eye with his performances in short time at Brentford Community Stadium where he scored once and provided four assists in 11 appearances. Tottenham, Manchester United, Everton, Newcastle, West Ham, Ajax and an unnamed Spanish club are everyone would have made offersto the player, with City. It is, however, suggested that Spurs have taken a step back in their interests.
