Mindy Kaling’s graphic bralette gets a bold boost with studded sandals – Footwear News

Mindy Kaling has shared her most edgy summer outfit yet, thanks to a daring matching ensemble and rock n’ roll worthy heels.

The “Never Have I Ever” designer shared her latest ensemble in an Instagram post, which featured a daring matching bralette and skirt by LaQuan Smith. The New York-based designer’s bralette featured thin straps and structured lined cups, while the skirt included a daring thigh-high slit. Each piece was covered in a broken linear black and white print, giving them a free-spirited appearance while allowing them to flow together smoothly. Kaling completed the ensemble with a wide gold bracelet, as well as wire-wrapped gold drop earrings by Rebecca de Ravenel.

“I didn’t peak in high school, I’m still here getting cuter,” Kaling captioned her post, referencing Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow’s song “Industry Baby” — which she has. also tagged in his post.

As for the shoes, Kaling complemented the black patterns of her outfit with a set of Valentino sandals. The ‘Office’ star’s black pair featured thin soles and three front straps, complete with a buckled back strap for added security. Giving the whole thing a chic touch, gold pyramid studs edged each strap to create a geometric texture. Although her heels were not visible, the pair likely included block heels totaling 3-4 inches in height, based on similar styles from the famous Italian luxury brand.

Kaling herself is no stranger to bold footwear, often sporting colorful and textured styles – like the blue fringed Malone Souliers sandals she donned for an at-home photo shoot in July.

Embellished sandals like Kaling’s have been a major trend this year, due to the resurgence of high heels and a widespread desire to dress glamorously. Stiletto or block heel pairs embellished with crystals, sequins and studs were the most popular, as seen in new styles from Kurt Geiger, Alexandre Birman and Larroudé. Rebecca Minkoff’s latest mules and strappy sandals are also leading the charge, thanks to their punchy and stylish monochromatic metallic studs.

The ‘Mindy Project’ designer is never shy about a bold look, often wearing ensembles in bright colors, glamorous textures and cheerful prints from brands such as Oscar de la Renta, Retrofete and Tory Burch. Kaling’s upbeat wardrobe also includes a range of colorful sandals and pumps from designers including Stuart Weitzman, Christian Louboutin and Sophia Webster. When not on duty, she can also be spotted in Hoka One One sneakers, Adidas slides and Kate Spade low heel sandals.
