Police described him as a bald black man with brown eyes, 6ft 2in tall and weighing 200lbs.
On the day of the stabbing, Lee was admitted to St. Mary Medical Center where she underwent surgery for serious but not life-threatening injuries. Since then, the community has rallied to support her, with a neighbor even starting a GoFundMe which raised $9,870 of the $10,000 goal to help pay medical bills.
In the latest update shared on Saturday, February 26 by neighbor Kevin Voravong, Lee’s condition appears to have worsened over the past month. Photos show the liquor store owner hooked up to a ventilator after doctors said in early February she was struggling to breathe on her own due to spinal injuries sustained in the stab wounds.
“I am crushed and absolutely devastated to hear the news,” Voravong said. “She didn’t deserve any of this and with this person still on the run, something has to be done.”
